With our first day done and dusted, we can say one thing for sure, we love the music and we live the life at The Long Road. We’re sure you’ll agree that Friday was the perfect start for this year’s hoedown.
We always say that all y’all are family and yesterday we proved it with the warmest of welcomes at the Flyin’ Solo Mix n Mingle Quiz. Held in the Honky Tonk, which brings the spirit of downtown Nashville to the UK, not a soul was left hankering for a howdy and we don’t think there’s a better way to get to know new friends!
Just to be extra sure that everyone felt completely at home at the Long Road, we had Fireside Stories and Songs in Lil Possum County for the youngsters and little ones. You’re never too young to keep country traditions alive by the warmth and light of a campfire.
Things were lively back at the Honky Tonk, where Long Roaders made sure to entertain each other with a heel-digging round of Countryoke. Busting out the big numbers long into the night, we may even have discovered a few new music stars.
SoCal country giant Sam Outlaw topped Friday’s musical bill on our Interstate stage. With two top five UK Country chart albums, Angeleno and Tenderheart to draw from, he kept the crowd dancing with a hit-packed singalong set that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
And bringing the first day of the Long Road to a truly triumphant close the Buck n Bull After Party at the Interstate stage saw a special brand of country magic supplying the sounds to some hi jinx and late night boot scootin’.
And now we’re ready to do it all again, check out our top 5 things not to miss for Saturday and enjoy another day of country, Americana and roots!
