The Road to Tennessee
A three way partnership between British Underground, Birthplace of Country Music and The Long Road.
The Long Road is one of the UK’s largest, most authentic celebrations of Country, Americana and Roots music in Leicestershire this September. As well as pioneering the emergence of Country Music in the UK, at the heart of the festival is the desire to nurture emerging homegrown talent. For 2019, we’re joining forces with British Underground and Birthplace of Country Music to host two UK-based acts, Danni Nicholls and Curse of Lono for a series of shows in the UK and across the pond in Tennessee.
Danni Nicholls and Curse of Lono will commence The Road To Tennessee by performing at The Long Road (6-8 Sept), they will then fly to Nashville to play at Americana Fest (10-15 Sept) and The Bootleg BBQ hosted by British Underground (Sat 14) and then go on to play Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion music festival (20-22 Sept).
This three way partnership will ensure centre stage for the acts during their journey, to set them on the road to country music stardom.
Singer-songwriter Danni Nicholls has been enjoying an incredible ride. From supporting the legendary Shakin’ Stevens on his major UK tour to being invited to perform at prestigious events such as Folk Alliance International, Cambridge Folk Festival and more…2019 is set to be very exciting.
Curse Of Lono released their second album ‘As I Fell’ in August 2018 to great critical acclaim, earning the band their first top 10 album in the UK Americana Charts. The acclaimed London five-piece were awarded the title of Bob Harris’s Emerging Act of the Year at the 2019 UK Americana Awards which took place at Hackney Empire in January.
British Underground is a creative production company that produces international showcases and strategic development projects in music, art and tech that focus on international success.
