The Cookout: Oven BBQ Ribs

Ingredients

• Ribs
• 2 cups of tomato ketchup
• Apple cider vinegar
• Cup of brown sugar
• Teaspoon of granulated garlic
• Half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
• Teaspoon of salt
• Teaspoon and a half of black pepper
• 2 tablespoons paprika

Stage 1: Rub the ribs

Preheat your oven to 135 degrees Celsius or 275 Fahrenheit
In a bowl add the following ingredients to a bowl:
Cup of brown sugar
Teaspoon of granulated garlic
Half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Teaspoon of salt
Teaspoon and a half of black pepper
2 tablespoons Paprika
Whisk around to mix.

Start with the ribs on the bone side with a little squirt mustard to help the rub stick. Generously apply the rub all over the bone side so as to cover it up.
Flip the ribs over to the presentation side and repeat. Although the name suggests it’s a rub you don’t need to rub it in just pat it down

Put in your oven for around 3 hours (135 degrees Celsius or 275 Fahrenheit)

Stage 2: wrap the ribs

After 3 hours, take them out of the oven, your ribs should be nice and brown. Set the ribs meat side down and double wrap them in foil just to make sure that any sharp edges don’t poke through. Put them back into the oven for 3 more hours.

Stage 3: Sauce the ribs

Once the ribs are about 20 minutes out to being fully cooked, it’s time to prepare you barbecue sauce.
In a pot on slow heat add in the following ingredients:
2 cups of tomato ketchup
Half of your spice mixture
Apple cider vinegar

Stir until it all comes together.
Glaze the ribs with your homemade sauce and put them back in the oven for 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and enjoy!
