Smokey Turkey Thanksgiving Burger


For 1 to 2 burgers

  • 194g Turkey Mince
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Pepper
  • Pinch Garlic
  • Tomato
  • Mayonnaise
  • Small bunch Parsley
  • 32g Grated Smoked Applewood cheese
  • Few leaves of lettuce
  • Chestnut smoked streaky bacon
  • Basil pesto
  • Swiss cheese slices
  • Burger buns
  • 1 small red Onion
Stage 1:Make the patty

In a bowl with your minced turkey add your salt, pepper, garlic and grated Smoked Applewood cheese. Chop up some parsley and add to bowl.  Make sure all the ingredients are incorporated.  Make a patty by pushing down the meat mix between two baking sheets. Put in the fridge to firm up.

Stage 2: Prep the filling

Thinly slice your onions and tomatoes then drop your patties on a high heat pan. You will start to notice the cheese in the patties start to melt and start to crisp up. Flip you patties over and add a swiss cheese slice to the cooked side.  In the same pan add your bacon streaks. Once the bacon is crispy lay it on the swiss cheese covering the  patties. Remove from pan and drop your buns in the same pain to toast them.

Stage 3: Build the burger

On one bun, spread a layer of basil pesto, lay your patty covered in swiss cheese and bacon on top. Next, stack the lettuce, onions and tomato slices. Close your burger with a top bun covered in mayonnaise.
